Covid-19: 70 released in ICR, E/Kameng registers 11 cases

ITANAGAR, Jul 26: The Itanagar capital region (ICR) saw the release of 70 Covid-19 patients on Sunday, out of the total 79 in the state.

The ICR recorded five positive cases on Sunday, even as the rapid response team was given the day off to reenergize.

On Sunday, the state recorded 32 Covid-19 positive cases. Of these, nine are symptomatic and 23 are asymptomatic.

East Kameng reported 11 positive cases in Seppa town, including among contacts of those who had earlier tested positive. In Changlang, two nurses tested positive. The wife of a cook working at the Bordumsa PHC and one staffer of the PHE department also tested positive, along with four returnees.

Six ITBP personnel tested positive in quarantine facility (QF) in Upper Siang. East Siang and Lower Siang reported one case each – returnees from Sikkim and Assam, respectively – in QFs.

Two people each recovered in East Kameng, West Kameng, Lower Subansiri and Lower Siang. One person in Changlang also recovered on Sunday.

Meanwhile, the health department informed that the four positive cases detected at the Rankatu Tea Estate on 25 July are from Bordumsa. It advised the people of the tea estate not to panic.
