Meeting on issues concerning K/Kumey held

SANGRAM, Oct 27: Home Minister Bamang Felix on Tuesday chaired a meeting of the HoDs here in Kurung Kumey district and discussed various issues concerning the district.

Addressing the HoDs, Felix emphasized on “kitchen garden for local consumption” and said that the Covid-19 pandemic has taught a lesson to everyone to work hard and work for survival.

He requested all to do something under the Aatmanirbhar Bharat and the ‘Vocal for local’ initiatives.

“We should not wait for the government to give a call but make efforts and try to pass on the knowledge of agri-horti to the next generation,” he said.

“There is huge land available in the state, and it should be used in a better way, so that the kind of situation witnessed during the lockdown is not repeated in the future,” he added.

Felix also directed the DC and the SP to check that no organization tries to destroy public property in case of any bandh call for any reason.

The home minister handed over 3,000 Covid-19 RAT testing kits to the DMO and thanked the health workers for their service in the battle against Covid-19. He also handed over the key to a Mahindra Bolero to the Nyobia circle officer for official purposes.

Felix informed that a bike ride will be conducted in the coming winter to promote tourism in the district.

DC Kento Riba, SP M Ete and other senior officers also shared their views and suggestions.
