KHONSA, 8 Feb: An orientation programme was held for the zilla parishad members (ZPM) and gram panchayat chairpersons (GPCs) of Tirap district at the conferencae hall of the circuit house here on Monday.
DRDA Project Director Hakresha Kri enlightened the PRI leaders on various centrally sponsored programmes, like Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana Grameen (PMAY-G), MGNREGA, CMAY (G), etc.
DRDA APO Telem Kitnya highlighted how to place labour budget and annual action plan under the MGNREGA. He also highlighted the roles of GPCs, permissible works under the MGNREGA and GP-wise status of the programme.
District nodal officer (PEMS) of the panchayati raj department, Makba Nasi spoke on the 15th Finance Commission Grants, financial recommendations, utilization of 15th FC funds, utilization of basic and tied grants.
Makba also highlighted the Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan, its objectives and focus areas.
Tirap ZPC Chathong Lowang, who chaired the meeting, expressed hope that similar orientation programmes would be conducted for the PRI members by various other work departments for proper implementation of the centrally sponsored schemes.
She commended the DRDA PD and the DPDO for conducting the important orientation programme.
Lazu EAC (in-charge) DK Thungdok appealed to all the ZPMs and GPCs to implement all centrally sponsored schemes in times.
All ZPMs and GPCs of Tirap district and BDOs attended the programme. (DIPRO)
