ITANAGAR, 19 Apr: Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president Nabam Tuki expressed grief over the demise of former Assam chief minister Bhumidhar Barman.
Barman, 91, died on Sunday evening at a private hospital in Guwahati after a prolonged illness.
“I am deeply saddened to know about the passing away of Dr Bhumidhar Barman. A veteran Congress leader, Barman’s dedication, commitment and contribution to the party in Assam will always be remembered,” Tuki said in a condolence message.
The APCC president said Barman’s demise has left a huge void in the Indian National Congress. He offered condolence to the bereaved family and prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul.
