ITANAGAR, 12 May: The district medical officer (DMO) of Itanagar capital region (ICR), Dr Mandip Perme has informed that 10 new Covid-19 contact tracing teams, five each for Naharlagun and Itanagar have been constituted.
Briefing the press here on Wednesday, the DMO said these teams have been trained to conduct contact tracing of the Covid-infected patients.
The DMO also shared that the triage centre at Hotel Donyi Polo, Ashoka is almost ready and it will start collecting samples from Friday onwards.
“An X-ray machine has been installed and other required logistic support is also being readied,” said the DMO.
He further shared that from 1 April till now, 17,990 tests, including RAT, RT-PCR and TrueNat have been conducted in the ICR.
“A total of 1182 people tested positive, of which 416 are in home isolation, 57 at Lekhi CCC, 9 at DCHC Midpu
and 39 with serious conditions are at the DCH, Chimpu,” said Dr Perme.
The DMO expressed displeasure over reports of several people violating the containment (lockdown) norms.
“People are going out without any urgent work which is wrong. I appeal to them to at least respect the containment (lockdown) period. Please don’t go out; stay home and help us break the chain of infection. All the frontline workers are working hard to save lives,” added Dr Perme.
