APDA mourns death of SMO

ITANAGAR, 18 Jun: The Arunachal Pradesh Doctors Association (APDA) has deeply mourned the demise of senior medical officer (SMO) Dr Gekey Ete, who breathed his last on his way back to West Siang HQ Aalo from Guwahati (Assam) on Friday.

Dr Ete had been battling chronic renal failure and had been undergoing treatment at Dispur Hospital in Guwahati.

Dr Ete had completed his MBBS from the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences in Imphal (Manipur), and had joined service as a medical officer in Arunachal’s health department in 1996.

Remembering his immense contributions, the APDA said, “Dr Ete has shown his true spirit of hard works and welfare for people of Arunachal. He was always known as a man of simplicity, dignity and sincerity.”

The APDA, on behalf of the state’s doctor community, prayed for strength to the bereaved family and paid tribute to the departed soul for his splendid service to mankind.
