AKDDSU submits memo to CM

PALIN, 21 Jul: Welcoming the government decision for shifting Kra Daadi district headquarters from Jamin to Palin, the All Kra Daadi District Students’ Union (AKDDSU) has demanded allocation of one-time funding for the development of entire infrastructure for district headquarters within a time frame.

The AKDDSU, in a memorandum to the chief minister, said on Monday that the construction of the infrastructure should be fast-tracked under the direct supervision of the CMO for completion of the infrastructure works within two to three years.

Terming the “sudden declaration of the government   for shifting of  district headquarters from Jamin to Palin a shocker as well as a surprising announcement,” the  AKDDSU, however,  welcomed the  government decision “believing  that the government has taken this step after considering all the aspects and for the common interests of the inhabitants of the districts as a whole.”

Decision for sudden shifting of district headquarters was a shocker, the union said, adding that crores of rupees had  already been invested  so far in Jamin as district headquarter. “However, not a single office is functioning there even after creation of the district in 2015,” it claimed.

The AKDDSU further said that the government should release an official gazette regarding the infrastructure created at Jamin for the last six years.

The union also submitted a representation to the Kra Daadi deputy commissioner for immediate completion of the process of land acquisition with the cooperation of the local people for the establishment of district headquarters at Palin.
