LIKABALI, 17 Nov: A series of awareness campaigns cum sensitization programmes on Right to Information (RTI) Act, 2005 were conducted here and various other places in Lower Siang district by the State Information Commission (SIC) recently.
State Information Commissioners Gumjum Haider, Goto Ete, Genom Tekseng and Sonam Yudron highlighted various important sections of the Act.
Haider spoke in detail on sections 3, 4 and 5 of the Act, while Ete highlighted on ‘technically critical’ sections, including section 8, 9, 10 and 11 of the Act.
Haider also interacted with the heads of the departments, the youth, the panchayat and students’ leaders and emphasized on clean and transparent administration for a bright future of the society.
Similar programmes were also organized at Gensi sub-division and Taramori under Sibe circle on 11 and 13 November, respectively, during which the people have been sensitized about the Act. They were also made aware of what information is available and how to obtain it.
