RUKSIN, 9 Jan: The Legong Banggo Students’ Union of East Siang district has announced a 48-hour Ruskin bandh from 5 am of 11 January in protest against the district administration’s alleged failure to free the encroached government land in Sille-Oyan circle headquarters.

The union also alleged that the authority did not pay heed to its demand for demarcation of government plots and posting of additional police personnel at the Kemi check gate near the Assam-Arunachal boundary.

The union had enforced a 10-hour Ruksin bandh on 19 July last year.

When contacted, Ruksin ADC Tajing Jonnom said that the local administration is prepared to foil the bandh call and deal with any situation that may arise in case the bandh is enforced.
