NAMSAI, 24 Feb: An awareness programme on tax deduction at source (TDS) and tax collected at source (TCS) was conducted by the income tax department, in collaboration with the Namsai district administration, here on Thursday.
Speaking on the occasion, Income Tax Officer Lalu Prasad Singh highlighted the importance of accurate filing of returns without any delay. Singh also spoke on the role of the DDOs and explained the deduction methodology and various tax slabs, and the differences between the new and the old tax regimes.
The importance of filing income tax returns by APSTs was also discussed.
Around 70 DDOs and other heads of offices attended the programme, which was chaired by DC Dr RK Sharma. (DIPRO)
