Training on mushroom cultivation, post-harvest management of horti produce held

KEBANG VILLAGE, 2 Mar: An awareness-cum-training programme on mushroom cultivation techniques and post-harvest management of horticultural produce was conducted here in Siang district.

A total of 57 farmers from Paglek, Radha, Reging, Sole villages were given training on mushroom cultivation techniques and processing of vegetables and fruits in the form of pickles.

The training is conducted under project ‘Arik Abik Lunom-mobile based agro advisory services in Arunachal Pradesh’ which is implemented by the College of Horticulture and Forestry, Central Agricultural University, Pasighat (CH&FCAU), in collaboration with Digital India Corporation,  Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), GoI.

The project is aimed at providing information and empowering farmers in taking informed decisions to enhance their livelihood through mobile-based agro advisory services in local dialect. The project is being implemented in nine districts of the state viz, East Siang, West Siang, Upper Siang, Lower Siang, Siang, Lepa Rada, Lower Dibang Valley, Namsai and Shi Yomi.

Head department of NRM, CHF, CAU, Pasighat and principal investigator m4agri-Arunachal ‘Arik Abik Lunom’ Dr Saroj Kumar Pattanaaik and Pangin ZPM Oyar Muang were also present during the training.
