DAPORIJO, 22 Mar: An ‘awareness-cum-orientation programme’ on the Atmanirbhar Krishi Yojana (ANKY) and the Atmanirbhar Bhagwani Yojana (ANBY) was conducted at Sinyik Hall here in Upper Subansiri district on 21 March.
A total of 449 selected ANBY and ANKY beneficiaries were imparted training in credit-linked schemes and adoption of production technologies to double their income.
DC Mika Nyori exhorted the farmers to become self-reliant through both the schemes.
Stating that the people suffered a lot for essential commodities during the Covid-19 pandemic, Nyori emphasised on “increasing agricultural productivity for doubling the farmers’ income.”
He advised the farmers to “make optimum utilisation of the tractors, power tillers and other farm machineries received by them through the credit-linked subsidy scheme.”
DAO Rukdam Jeram, HDO Dr Malar Bui and other field functionaries of the agriculture and horticulture departments, along with staffers of the SRLM attended the programme and assured to provide hand-holding support to the selected beneficiaries for successful implementation of the schemes.
The branch managers of the SBI, the Rural Bank and the Apex Bank were the resource persons of the training programme.
