GEKU, 28 Mar: The ICAR’s Basar (Leparada)-based regional centre (RC) organised a ‘Training-cum-input distribution programme’, in collaboration with the Upper Siang KVK, here in West Siang district on Monday, under the Tribal Sub-Plan.
ICAR RC Joint Director Dr H Kalita briefed the participants about the technologies developed by the ICAR for livelihood improvement, and requested all farmers to “learn the technologies and adopt them for income generation as well as for self-employment.”
Horticulture scientist Dr Thejangulie Angami dwelt on “scientific agro-techniques in vegetable crops and method of application of different organic inputs” that were distributed during the programme.
Seeds of okra, French bean, cowpea, brinjal, ridge gourd, cucumber, bottle gourd, bitter gourd, amaranthus, etc, were distributed among the participating farmers.
Geku KVK Head Dr Oyinti Megu also spoke.
