Aashwasan campaign launched in Anjaw

HAWAI, 3 Apr: The ‘Aashwasan’ campaign to break the chain of the spread of Covid and TB infection was launched in Anjaw district on 1 April.

The Piramal Swasthya Management & Research Institute will conduct awareness campaigns regarding Covid-19 and testing for TB through mobile vans in eight blocks of the district.

Along with this, sputum collection and testing will be done, based on symptoms, through an active case-finding campaign, vis-à-vis potential TB patients at the village level. TB treatment will be provided free of cost by the government upon confirmation of the disease. This will help in early detection of TB and help prevent further spread of the disease.

Under this campaign, people will not need to go to government health centres for testing. The sputum of presumptive cases will be collected from home and transported to the nearest diagnostic centres for testing.

The launch programme was attended by Circle Officer Giogi Rimi, DMO Dr B Ratan, Medical Superintendent Dr KK Singh, and other officials from the Kalikho Pul Memorial District Hospital.
