YACHULI, 12 Apr: Agriculture Minister Tage Taki on Tuesday launched a buyback policy for agriculture products for the upcoming mega food park in the state.
Addressing the launch ceremony here in Lower Subansiri district, Taki said that “it is a happy moment that the upcoming mega food park
lead promoter Likha Maj has initiated the system of buyback policy for agriculture products,” which include maize and soybean as raw materials for production of various items.
“Today I have launched the system for two agriculture products, which include maize and soybean, from which animal food meal would be prepared in the proposed unit in the food park near Banderdewa,” said Taki.
Also, an MoU was signed between the Farmer Federation of Yachuli and Likha Maj, in the presence of the DC and officers of the agriculture and horticulture departments, and an advance amount of Rs 10 lakhs was paid to the farmers.
“The buyback policy would go a long way in promoting the agriculture and horticulture sectors, and enhance the economic condition of the farmers,” Taki said.
Yachuli ADC Toko Babu advised the farmers not to destroy greenery in the name of farming, and requested them to “go for cultivation of agriculture and horticulture on their own specified land.”
Maj on his part assured to work for the promotion of agriculture and horticulture in the state. He expressed hope that the mega food park would be completed at the earliest with the active support of the state government.
Several farmers of the Kal Palyin Cluster Level Federation of Yachuli, including its president Toko Mama and secretary Taj Yal Toko also spoke.
