Gov calls for conducting exams for TGTs, PGTs

ITANAGAR, 28 Apr: Governor BD Mishra called for “immediate conduct of examination for selection of TGT and PGT posts, so that there is no shortage of teachers in the schools.”

During a meeting with Education Minister Taba Tedir and Education Commissioner Padmini Singla at the Raj Bhavan here on Thursday, the governor also stressed on “checking teachers and staff in the schools to restrict absentees amongst them.”

Sharing his observations about the functioning of private universities, Mishra advised the minister and the commissioner to “advise the institutions, so that they function and work for the enhancement of the academic and personality development of the students.”

He also suggested regular monitoring of the universities in the state.

The governor asked Tedir, who is also in charge of cultural affairs, to “look into the issues of the local artists,” and suggested to the minister to “hold a meeting with the Arunachal Artistes’ Forum and promote them, keeping in mind the art and culture progress in the state, as also welfare measures for the performers.” (Raj Bhavan)
