TAWANG, 13 May: Orthopaedic surgeon Dr Dukhum Magu and his team successfully carried out a hip replacement operation at the Khandro Drowa Sangmo District Hospital here on 12 May.
The 39-year-old local male patient, who had a painful limp for over a year, was diagnosed with avascular necrosis of the right hip joint, and a total hip joint replacement operation was performed on him at the district hospital here.
The hospital’s medical superintendent said that “Dr Magu has conducted many major orthopaedic procedures, including ilizarovs operation, tibia nailing, and correction of many malunion of long bones.”
Dr Magu said that “there are many more orthopaedic cases in Tawang which can very well be corrected,” and advised the patients to come forward for consultation. (DIPRO)
