Beneficiaries interact with PM during ‘garib kalyan sammelan’

ITANAGAR, 31 May: Beneficiaries of various central schemes across the country virtually interacted with the prime minister during the ‘garib kalyan sammelan’ held in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, on Tuesday.

The novel public programme, marking the completion of eight years of the government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, was organised across the country in the state capitals, district headquarters and Krishi Vigyan Kendras.

It was organised under the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM) to directly interact with the public to get feedback about the various welfare programmes being run by the government.

The event in Itanagar was organised at the DK Convention Hall by the rural development department.

Chief Minister Pema Khandu, union Minister Kiren Rijiju, Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, Rural Development Minister Bamang Felix, ministers, MLAs, the chief secretary, commissioners, secretaries, HoDs, the IMC mayor and corporators, and beneficiaries from the state capital and districts attended the programme.

In Papum Pare HQ Yupia, more than 120 beneficiaries of centrally-sponsored schemes from Yupia, Doimukh, Kimin, Mengio, Sagalee, Balijan and Naharlagun attended the virtual interaction programme at the DC’s conference hall and the NIC in Yupia.

The HoDs of scheme implementing departments and representatives of banks also attended the programme, which was supervised by ADC Tabang Bodung and DACO TM Tara.

In West Kameng HQ Bomdila, apart from the beneficiaries of various central schemes, the prime minister’s live interaction programme was witnessed by DC Karma Leki, ADC (HQ) Sang Khandu, administrative officers, HoDs, ZPMs and PRI leaders at the BBCS Hall.

Success stories were also screened during the event.

In Changlang, AKAM was celebrated at the multipurpose hall there. During the event, which was attended by, among others, MLAs Phosum Khimhun and Laisam Simai, Changlang DC (in-charge) Arjun Mohan, administrative officers, HoOs, and beneficiaries of 13 government schemes, ration cards, LPG cards, stoves and LPG cylinders were distributed to the beneficiaries by the MLAs.

The beneficiaries also interacted with Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually during the sammelan.

The health department, led by DMO Dr Koblem Mossang, conducted free blood glucose test, blood pressure test and weight and height measurements during the programme.

In Anjaw HQ Hawai, 313 participants, including 108 beneficiaries, witnessed the PM’s virtual interaction programme at the DC’s conference hall. DC Talo Jerang, ZPC Sohai Ama, ZPMs and other PRI members and HoDs also attended the programme.

In Lower Dibang Valley HQ Roing, the event was organised at the VKV auditorium, and more than 350 beneficiaries attended it.

ZPC Obang Ngupok advised the people to take full advantage of the Chief Minister’s Arogya Arunachal Yojana (CMAAY).

DC Soumya Saurabh and DMO Dr T Taki spoke about the ill effects of tobacco, and the number of people who have been covered under the AB-PMJAY, respectively. The DMO informed that the number of people covered under the CMAAY is more than 57 percent.

In East Siang HQ Pasighat, the programme was held at the DC’s conference hall and was attended by

MLAs Kaling Moyong and Kento Rina, DC Tayi Taggu, SP Sumit Kr Jha, PMC Chief Councillor Okiam Moyong Borang and beneficiaries.

In Longding, the event was attended by 400 beneficiaries. MLAs Tanpho Wangnaw and Gabriel D Wangsu, ZPC Lohpong Wangham, DC Bani Lego, ZPMs, heads of departments and PRI members attended the event.

The event was also organised in Aalo (West Siang), Palin (Kra Daadi), Ziro (Lower Subansiri), Daporijo (Upper Subansiri) and all other district headquarters. (DIPROs)
