Police dept in process of upgrading police infrastructure in TCL: DGP

ITANAGAR, 23 Jun: Arunachal Pradesh Director General of Police (DGP) Satish Golcha has said that the police department is in the process of upgrading infrastructure in Tirap, Changlang and Longding. “In TCL, we are trying to improve law and order. Besides taking support of central forces, the police department is training its forces specifically to deal with the insurgents,” he said.

Speaking to the media here on Thursday, the DGP said that the police department understands the pain of the people and is with them.

He praised the people of the three districts “for coming out strongly against the insurgency groups creating trouble in the three districts.”

“We are with the public of TCL and assure them that antisocial activities will not be tolerated,” said Golcha.

The DGP also announced that the police will concentrate on tackling drug supply to the state. On the growing cases of cybercrimes, he said that the police department is training its officers to carry out investigation related to such crimes.

“Cybercrime is increasing and this is dangerous. Several cases of online fraud are being reported. People also need to remain aware and alert,” the DGP added.
