ROING, 12 Sep: Rashtriya Poshan Maah was observed by the Lower Dibang Valley district child protection unit (DCPU) at the childcare institution here on Monday.
Around 80 participants, comprising residents of the children’s home and members of the Child Welfare Committee (CWC), the Specialised Adoption Agency and the DCPU participated in the programme, during which ICDS Deputy Director GA Perying spoke about the programme’s “focus on the nutrition aspect among children and usefulness of locally available vegetables.”
She informed that Poshan Maah “also focuses on the children’s nutrition for proper growth and development.”
CWC member Neharika S Umbrey stressed on “the importance of maintenance of personal hygiene among children,” and said that “children need to maintain self-cleanliness, eat a balanced diet, and keep their surroundings clean.”
DCPU Protection Officer N Meto and Nani Maria Society chairperson Desai Linggi also spoke. (DIPRO)
