Bagra inaugurates VDVK

POBDI, 26 Sep: Industry Minister Tumke Bagra inaugurated a ‘Yengo Gune’ Van Dhan Vikas Kendra (VDVK) and a Van Dhan Trifed in Pobdi village in West Siang district on Monday.

The West Siang DIPRO informed that “the project is value chain addition. This is the small-scale industry for jam processing, mixed vegetables, chilli processing, dried king chilli, ginger paste and turmeric powder.”

“Bagra encouraged the women SHG to dedicatedly involve in the project from producing of raw materials to the finished product, and urged the public to cultivate sericulture farming and form cooperative society,” the DIPRO said.

“The minister assured the SHG to locate a permanent site for establishment of this unit, for which he assured of help from the government,” the DIPRO informed.

“Deputy Commissioner Penga Tato encouraged the SHG for such a wonderful project. He also requested the department concerned to be hygienic while packaging. The finished products can be easily marketed in Aalo township and nearby Siang district,” the DIPRO said, adding that the project has been facilitated by the Arunachal State Rural Livelihoods Mission and the Aalo West block mission management unit.

Bagra also flagged off nine LMVs and a Bolero pickup truck under the Aajeevika Gramin Express Yojana, in the presence of administrative officers, HoDs, and others, the DIPRO said.
