BASAR, 17 Nov: The ICAR’s state centre here in Leparada district organised an animal health camp and ‘training-cum-input distribution programme’ in New Dari village on 16 November.
During the programme, veterinary scientist Dr Doni Jini encouraged the farmers to “go for livestock production with the aim to double their income,” and explained how to use different medicines for livestock.
Horticulture scientist Dr Thejangulie Angami highlighted scientific cultivation of winter vegetables and method of application of organic inputs in horticultural crops.
Soil scientist Dr Ampee Tasung spoke on vermicomposting technology for soil fertility and improvement.
Medicines for livestock, and seeds of cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, carrot, radish, spinach, etc, along with vermibeds, mineral mixtures and endecticides were later distributed among the farmers.
