NAMSAI, 25 Mar: The lamp-lighting and oath-taking ceremony for the 4th batch BSc nursing students and the 2nd batch GNM students of the Arunachal University of Studies’ (AUS) School of Nursing was held here on Saturday.
AUS vice chancellor Prof DS Hernwal, who along with Namsai District Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr Anupam Wailong, District Programme Officer Dr CM Thamoung, and School of Nursing principal Pinky Devi attended the event, appealed to the students to “never forget the noble objective of a nurse to serve the society.”
Dr Wailong in his speech emphasised that “providing service to the society is the main objective of a health professional, keeping monetary benefits aside,” and cited the example of Florence Nightingale’s life.
He commended the AUS “for providing such a noble course to the students in a place where such health personnel are less in number.”
