Nat’l integration camp concludes

ITANAGAR, 13 Jan: The weeklong national integration camp themed ‘Viksit yuva, viksit Bharat’ concluded at Dera Natung Govt College (DNGC) here on 11 January.

Youths from 15 states of India participated in the camp, which was organised by Guwahati (Assam)-based NSS regional directorate, in collaboration with DNGC and the Arunachal state NSS cell.

During the valedictory function, Education Commissioner Amjad Tak strongly advocated organising such camps every six months to “enhance the spirit of integration and unite the people emotionally and morally, in order to foster peace, harmony, love and fellow feelings among the people of India.”

DNGC Principal Dr MQ Khan in his speech said, “The national integration camp not only achieved its goal of fostering unity but also created a network of goodwill and understanding among the diverse participants.”

Among others, State NSS Liaison Officer Dr AK Mishra and Education Secretary Pige Ligu attended the valedictory function.

Mementos and certificates were awarded to the winners of various competitive events organised during the camp.

In the traditional dance competition, Mizoram won the first position, while Uttar Pradesh and Sikkim won the second and the third position, respectively.

Revti from Punjab, Aditi Agarwal from West Bengal, and Prashant Sagar from Haryana stood first, second and third, respectively, in the extempore speech competition, while Akshat from Haryana, Avneet Kaur from Punjab and Pranjan from Assam stood first, second and third, respectively, in the slogan-writing competition.

Chapo Tangjang of Arunachal won the first prize in the poster-making competition, while Kushi Gewal from West Bengal and B Mahammad Hussain from Andhra Pradesh won the second and the third position, respectively.

Andhra Pradesh was declared the most disciplined team. (DIPRO)
