BJP need to address many issues

Editor,

The Lok Sabha elections in Arunachal Pradesh will be conducted in a single phase on April 19, coinciding with the assembly elections. The BJP has won 10 of the 60 assembly seats without contest, doubling its confidence. The leader further claimed that it will win all 60 assembly elections and 2 Lok Sabha elections. CM Pema Khandu said that the BJP is the only party that can ensure the development and good governance of the country, while the Congress has completely lost the hearts of the people and is a party that is hindering the development of the country. But people don’t seem to think so. According to a recent sample survey of 1,000 people, the BJP’s support rate is only 24%, which is lower than the INC’s 35%. This shows that the various actions and plans of the BJP haven’t received the people’s trust and support. How did the BJP lose popular support?

Corruption Rampant.

The Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) cash-for-job scam has not been resolved. The engineering department has been accused of endless corruption. Even the CM Pema Khandu has been accused of multiple corruption and abuse of power, most of all government contracts go to relatives of MLAs, ministers, and engineers. The entire state is corrupt from top to bottom, which makes the poor poorer and the rich richer.

Infrastructure Scarcity.

The CM claimed that the BJP had attached great importance to the development of the Northeast region during its rule. PM Narendra Modi had allocated Rs. 55,000 crore to implement various development projects in the Northeast region, including Arunachal Pradesh. The state got the lion’s share, Rs. 41,000 crore. Previously, the center has successively allocated funds for the development of Arunachal Pradesh, but there are still many villages without roads, no communications, no toilets, no schools, no office, no lighting, no water, basic infrastructure is not available. How can he say that the BJP is the only party that can ensure the development of the country?

Violence frequently.

Recently NCP candidate Likha Saaya was attacked by supporters of BJP candidate Zingnu Namchoom in Namsai. Violence erupted in Dadam village under the Khonsa (West) legislative assembly constituency as clashes broke out between supporters of the Congress and BJP. Ten individuals sustained injuries, with two of them requiring further treatment and being referred to Dibrugarh. On March 27, one of the candidates for Chowkham Assembly Constituency in Namsai district was gheraoed by a mob while he was on his way to file his nomination papers before the Returning Officer at the DC office, Namsai. The Assembly Constituency security situation is so serious, but the government doesn’t care. Instead, it works harder to win votes and suppress other parties.

Employment issues.

PM Modi promised 2 crore jobs before taking office in 2014, but since 2014, the unemployment rate has risen from 5.44% to 8.003% in 2023. Record unemployment and slow economic growth. The economy is not developing at a rapid pace under the Modi government as the news said. Young people in Arunachal Pradesh are also facing problems such as drug addiction, dropping out of school, unemployment, difficulties in reemployment. Workers’ pay is even lower than the national average. When will these urgent problems be solved?

Dictatorship.

In order to win votes, CM and BJP candidate Nyabi Jini Dirchi openly threatened the public with action against opponents. Obviously they only considered their own interests. If the BJP continues to be in power, will the dictatorship become more serious? Do other parties still have the right to say no? Can Arunachal Pradesh get real development?
