Editor,

I would like to draw attention to an important concern regarding the scheduling of interviews by the APPSC for the posts of assistant professor and PGT. As per the annual calendar, the viva for assistant professor is scheduled in April, followed by the PGT interviews in May.

A significant number of candidates have qualified in both examinations, as both posts fall under the education sector. In such a situation, conducting the assistant professor interviews first is a practical and efficient decision. This approach will help ensure that candidates who secure the assistant professor position do not occupy seats in the PGT selection process unnecessarily.

A similar issue arose in 2024 during the TGT recruitment, where the process had to be postponed to prevent vacancies caused by candidates shifting to higher posts after selection. The commission’s decision at that time was widely appreciated for maintaining administrative efficiency and reducing vacancy cycles.

Therefore, I respectfully urge the commission to adhere strictly to the current sequence – conducting the assistant professor interviews first, followed promptly by the PGT interviews. This will help in fair allocation of posts, reduce administrative complications, and ensure that deserving candidates receive opportunities without unnecessary delays.

I hope the authorities concerned will take this matter into consideration and act in the best interest of both the candidates and the education system.
