CHANGPA, 25 Oct: Twenty-five farmers and farmwomen participated in a training programme organised in Changpa village by the West Kameng Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) on Friday.
During the programme, KVK horticulture scientist Dr TS Mishra delivered a lecture on the ‘importance of organic off-season cultivation of vegetable crops’ and said that off-season vegetables are sold for higher prices, thereby benefitting the cultivators.
“Farmers can increase their knowledge, so that they can adopt off-season vegetable cultivation on a commercial scale,” he said.
Agriculture extension scientist Dr NK Mishra presented a brief on ‘the role of audio and visual aids in agriculture development’, and apprised the participants of how to improve the finance sector through SHGs and FPOs.
