DAPORIJO, 23 Dec: Traditional dance and drama competitions were organised by the Vivekananda Kendra Arun Jyoti in Kuporijo in Upper Subansiri district on Saturday.
Dance and drama troupes from different villages and organisations of the district participated in the competition held at VKV-Kuporijo.
The event was aimed at encouraging the people to promote and preserve their age-old culture and traditions, programme in-charge of Upper Subansiri and Papum Pare district Poyum Choncha Nima said.
She appealed to the younger generations to uphold their rich culture and beliefs.
Troupes from Dumporijo and Gusar circle, including Aya Marde and Dugi villages, have been selected to participate in the next level of the competition to be held in January, 2025.
The event was attended by senior citizens, youth and students leaders, and staff of the VKV.
