SCERT conducts workshop on HPC implementation

ITANAGAR, 6 Mar: A two-day workshop on the implementation of the holistic progress card (HPC), organised by the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), in collaboration with PARAKH, NCERT, concluded at the SCERT conference hall here on Thursday.

The workshop aimed to introduce modern assessment methodologies aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP)-2020, fostering a shift toward competency-based, student-centric evaluations.

In his inaugural address, SCERT Director Toko Babu emphasised the urgent need to move beyond traditional assessment methods and adopt a holistic approach that captures students’ overall growth and learning outcomes.

He highlighted how this initiative aligns with Mission Shikshit Arunachal, reinforcing the state’s commitment to transformative education reforms.

The workshop, coordinated by SCERT Assistant Director Yamang Hage, focused on the philosophy of HPC, its alignment with NEP-2020, and the development of competency-based assessments across different stages of schooling.

SCERT Deputy Director DY Ringu also spoke on the occasion.

The workshop saw participation of teachers and block education officers representing all 28 districts of the state. The resource persons of the workshop were PARAKH CEO Prof Indrani Bhaduri, Mani Solanki, and Bidisha Mazumder from PARAKH, NCERT.
