Editor,
It is deeply concerning and disheartening to witness the insensitivity and carelessness displayed by the state government by introducing sudden changes in the PGT Recruitment Rules just one month before the PGT exam (June 2025 as per APPSC annual calendar). This abrupt decision has left thousands of aspirants in distress, especially after years of delays, uncertainties, and the trauma of the APPSC paper leakage scandal.
The last TGT/PGT recruitment was conducted in 2019, meaning the government had 6 long years to revise and implement any necessary changes in the recruitment rules. Why were these modifications not introduced earlier? Why wait until the eleventh hour, when candidates have already invested immense time, effort, and resources in their preparation based on the existing rules? Such last-minute alterations not only disrupt the preparation of serious aspirants but also reflect a lack of empathy towards candidates who have already faced immense hardships due to repeated exam delays and malpractices. If changes are indeed necessary, they should consider implementing it from the TGT examination scheduled in November 2025, as per APPSC’s annual calendar. This would provide aspirants with sufficient time to adapt.
We humbly request the APPSC and the state government to reconsider this decision and refrain from altering the PGT recruitment rules at this critical juncture. A sudden shift in examination patterns will only add to the suffering of aspirants who have been waiting for this opportunity for years. We urge the authorities to prioritize fairness and the welfare of candidates by maintaining the existing rules for the upcoming PGT exam. Any necessary reforms should be introduced well in advance, allowing aspirants sufficient time to adapt.
Please do not make us suffer again.
