Editor,
It is appalling that in this day and age, when public awareness and citizen’s voices are stronger than ever, the municipal authority continues to shamelessly ignore repeated appeals to stop the daily sonic assault caused by their garbage trucks.
Every morning, without fail, our ears are assaulted by that filthy, disturbing, annoying jingle – a sound so irritating that one wonders whether it’s meant to mock the senses and peace of the citizens.
Why, despite countless complaints through the letters here, can they not replace it with another slow, calming softer instrumental tune in the local dialect – one that actually serves a purpose and represents the community respectfully?
There’s a fitting proverb: A dog’s tail will never become straight. And day after day, the municipal body proves that change, accountability, and civic sense are alien concepts to them. They remain determined to torment, torture, and harass residents with their outdated and senseless souls, turning peaceful mornings into a daily nightmare. They are the kind of people to fall in this category. The more you correct them or say, the more they will do it and show. This proverb truly fits them.
If the municipal body still has even a shred of responsibility left, it must replace this noise polluting jingle with something culturally meaningful and soothing. But if they continue to ignore this basic demand, they will cement their image as a permanently crooked institution – loud, tone-deaf, and hopelessly out of touch with the very people they are supposed to serve. It is questionable whether this letter will bring any change or not.
