Editor,
Through the columns of your esteemed daily, I would like to raise a genuine issue before the chairman and the secretary of the APPSC. I would like to know if a Casio 991EX Classwiz scientific calculator can be used in the AESE. The company (Casio) closed the production and distribution of said model in India.
The model is comparatively faster and multifunctional. It comes with a function that can solve a linear equation with four unknown variables easily while the other models currently available, such as Casio 991 Es Plus, can solve a maximum of three variables. One needs to work manually for the 4th variable, or use some other tricks that consume time. Likewise, there are lots of problems that the EX can solve easily. EX even gives the results faster compared to other models while performing complex calculation.
As the model was stopped 2-3 years ago, now the uniformity of the use of calculating gadget during the exam is in question.
It would be highly appreciated if these issues are addressed. As the exam is of three hours, getting the edge on it by the use of powerful gadget doesn’t do justice to those who don’t have it.
