Editor,

We wish to draw the attention of the chairman and the secretary of the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) to a matter of grave concern regarding the Arunachal Engineering Service Examination (Mains).

On 18 September, 2025, the APPSC issued a fresh notification, adding new candidates, including us, who now fall under the zone of consideration and have been provisionally accepted to appear in the forthcoming AESE Mains Examination scheduled on 28 September.

While this inclusion acknowledges our rightful claim to appear in the examination, it is deeply disheartening that we have been granted only 10 days to prepare for such a prestigious and numerically intensive examination.

The previously selected candidates were given two months to prepare, whereas we, despite our long struggle to be allowed entry into this process, are now left with merely 10 days. This disparity in preparation time undermines the principle of a level playing field and makes us feel like second-class aspirants. An examination of this nature requires thorough study and extensive numerical practice – something impossible within the severely limited time now available to us.

After battling hard to secure our rightful chance to appear, being subjected to such short notice feels like another injustice. We respectfully request the commission to reschedule the date of the AESE (Mains) Examination, so that all aspirants may be provided equal and fair opportunity.

Or must we once again be compelled to knock on the doors of the high court to ensure justice and equality in this matter?

We sincerely hope the commission will act in fairness and provide adequate preparation time for all candidates, upholding the spirit of equal opportunity and justice.
