Editor,
With the APPSCCE round the corner, I would like to highlight the plight of the candidates who, in spite of getting high scores in GS papers, could not get enough marks in the optionals to qualify for the exam. It has come to notice that some optionals were given marks ‘liberally’ and some ‘stingily’, which led to disproportionate overall markings.
If this continues then the candidates with ‘low scoring’ optional will be out of the race by default every time.
The commission should follow the UPSC’s ‘marks scaling system’, so that everyone, in spite of what optionals they choose, gets a fair chance at the exam.
It is highly hoped that this time the commission will look into the matter and let no discrepancy mar the sanctity of the exam and the commission.
