AUS, IIA sign 16 MoUs

NAMSAI, 3 Apr: As many as 16 memoranda of understanding (MoUs) were signed between the University-Industry Interlinkage Centre of the Arunachal University of Studies (AUS) and the Indian Industries Association (IIA) to promote collaborative growth, industry-academia partnership, and investment in Arunachal Pradesh.

The pacts were signed at a business conference and Arunachal Investors’ Summit held at the AUS campus here on 3 April, organised by the IIA, in collaboration with the AUS, the university stated in a release.

Addressing the gathering, Education Minister Pasang Dorjee Sona welcomed the enthusiasm shown by the business community to explore opportunities in Arunachal. He assured that the state government is ready to welcome industrialists and facilitate their initiatives.

 Local MLA Chau Zingnu Namchoom noted that the event would serve as a valuable platform for entrepreneurs to understand the business potential in the state.

MLA Wanglin Lowangdong highlighted the vast natural resources of Arunachal offering immense opportunities for industrial growth.

The IIA has appointed AUS Chairman Dr Ashwani Lochan as president of the IIA’s Arunachal chapter, recognising his outstanding contribution to the educational landscape of Northeast India.

The summit also featured plenary sessions on the themes ‘Catalysing India’s educational transformation: Industry-academia synergy for employability, sustainable growth, and leadership excellence’; ‘From potential to profit: Investor pathways in the Northeast’; and ‘Financing sustainable rural enterprises in the Northeast: Catalysing pathways for inclusive growth, employability and investment’.

The AUS pledged to continue serving as a bridge between investors and entrepreneurs of Arunachal and other Northeastern states, fostering innovation, opportunity, and sustainable development.

This initiative is expected to strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem of the region and open new avenues for investment and industrial progress, the release stated.

Apart from 52 industries from Arunachal and Assam, the event witnessed active participation of businessmen from Namsai, and Tinsukia and adjoining districts of Assam.

AUS Vice-Chancellor Prof Ajeya Jha, IIA president Dinesh Goyal and its vice president Alok Agarwal attended the conference.
