NAHARLAGUN, Nov 25: A four-day training programme on “Public Financial Management System (PFMS)” concluded at the Directorate of Agriculture, Naharlagun on Saturday.
The training on PFMS is a mandatory step for sensitizing district level officers of the Agriculture Department, who are to act as master trainers to their subordinates in the districts.
The training about digital transaction of central sector fund under various schemes on farmers’ welfare was provided by the Project Monitoring Unit (PMU) officials of the state Finance, Planning & Investment Department and Agriculture Directorate officers.
The trainees were provided with internet connectivity in the National e-Governance Plan-Agriculture (NeGP-A) laboratory for operational activities to get acquainted with online digital transaction of CSS and state funded schemes.
Earlier, in the inaugural session, Agriculture Secretary Y W Ringu emphasized on clear insight into the methodology of PFMS and appealed to the officers to clear any sort of confusion or doubt from the resource persons and departmental officers. She also advised all the participants to be careful in operation of the system to maintain total transparency in utilization of government fund.
The Agriculture Department has already started PFMS and release of fund to the district officers and beneficiaries digitally in DBT mode under the Agricultural Extension Programme.
