ROING, Dec 14: The Lower Dibang Valley District Child Protection Unit (DCPU) organized an orientation programme on the Integrated Child Protection Scheme (ICPS), the Juvenile Justice Act, and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act here on Thursday.
The 24 members who participated in the programme comprised representatives of the Juvenile Justice Board, the Child Welfare Committee, and the Special Juvenile Police Unit (SJPU), besides CDPOs, NGO representatives, the labour union president, and DCPU officials.
DCPU Protection Officer Napi Meto presented a brief on effective implementation of the ICPS and the role of the stakeholders, while DCPU Counsellor Tokgul Badu made a PowerPoint presentation on the ICPS, focusing on the functioning of the DCPU.
During the interactive session, Akunge Miuli of the IMLCS’ women wing shared experiences related to child issues in the district.
Several experts also spoke at the function. (DIPRO)
