Dear Editor,
The scrapping away of optional from prelims is indeed a great step taken by the APPSC. It will for sure remove many grudges and abnormalities in the conduct of the exam and paper pattern.
It will also remove comparisons and extra effort of scaling process after the exam, which is quite unhealthy and unfair.
It should also be noted by all that CSAT will just be an screening medium with minimum qualifying marks which is not that harsh as few sections of students claim. The UPSC follows the same and thousands from different background qualifies for the mains via the same process.
The commission deserves big thumbs up for the masterstroke which is bit late but indeed a good decision for future exams. The commission should remember and feel that the APPCSE is the only exam where a son/ daughter of a farmer also hope and dreams to get through their sincerity and toil and serve the state. It’s the duty of the commission to safeguard the value of hard work of all students by conducting clean exams.
Yours,
Biku Jaipu, Aalo
