KAMENGBARI, 31 Jan: ‘Development will take place only when there is peace and unity,’ said minister for environment and forest Mama Natung while interacting with the locals of Kamengbari under West Kameng district here on Sunday.
The minister was accompanied by the Kalaktang MLA D.W Karma, Thrizino-Buragoan MLA Kumsi Sidisow and other public leaders and officers of Bhalukpong.
During the visit, the team led by Natung discussed various issues including developmental matters of Kamengbari which is located in the foothills of West Kameng district.
On the occasion, the locals submitted a memorandum to the team highlighting various problems affecting them.
Natung urged people of the area to remain united and maintain peace for development to take place. He further said ‘People will have to be patient as development schemes take time to implement as it has to go through many processes.’
The minister also assured to take up all issues in a phased manner with consultation with local MLA-cum-advisor environment and forest Kumsi Sidisow.
