TAWANG, 20 Jun: All the major hydroelectric projects (HEP) in Tawang district have been synchronised with the state grid through the Dokunipani-Jang 33 kv line, the power department’s SE (E) Nangkong Perme informed in a release on Monday.
“This is the first time in the history of Arunachal Pradesh that a cluster of hydel stations in a district has been synchronised with the state grid,” Perme said, adding that “this has been made possible by continuous and persistent supports put in by the state government through various coordination meetings conducted by Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, power department adviser Balo Raja, and commissioners and secretaries of the power and the hydropower development departments.”
“Eligible hydel stations in other districts shall also be synchronised gradually, for which operational clearance shall be given from Uwae to time on case to case basis by the SLDC, according to relevant regulations passed by the state and central electricity regulation commissions,” Perme said.
