AUS organises job fair

NAMSAI, 21 Feb: The Arunachal University of Studies (AUS) here organised a job fair, sponsored by the World Education Mission, on Tuesday.

While 158 job aspirants, comprising final year students and alumni, registered for the career fair, “approximately 60 candidates have been shortlisted by the companies for the next round of assessment, which has been one of the biggest openings in the region with regards to a career symposium,” the AUS informed in a release.

Companies such as Bajaj Allianz, Jio Digital, MylinguaLines Private Ltd, Svatantra Microfin, Valeur Fabtex, etc, were the recruiting bodies, it said.

Namsai ADC Sokhetlum Mining, who inaugurated the event, encouraged the youths to “develop skills as per their interest, be confident and focused, and grab available opportunities to be hired.”

Mining also highlighted the importance of private sector jobs and advised the local youths not to hesitate to take up such jobs.

“All job aspirants must prepare themselves and should participate in large numbers in such events to be employed and make the society a better one,” he said.

AUS vice chancellor Prof DS Hernwall said that “such events should take place more frequently and in grand scale, so that the students can get the maximum career opportunities.”

AUS skill development & vocational studies director Yashvardhan Agnihotri said: “Employing as many numbers of youths of the region in various employment opportunities is the prime objective of the event.”

“The AUS has always taken various efforts to enhance the livelihood and employment chances of the youths of Namsai by offering many skill development programmes. This event is another step to bring in great companies to the native land to uplift the youths,” he added.

AUS assistant registrar Vipin Rawat also spoke.
