BANDERDEWA, Mar 9: A 52-year-old person died in a hit and run case here on Wednesday evening. The victim, who succumbed to his injuries on way to TRIHMS Naharlagun, was identified as Gyamar Taya, an employee of forest department posted at Banderdewa Forest Range, according to Banderdewa PS OC K Yangfo.
The incident occurred when a scooty hit the victim at around 7 pm. One David Tayum, 21, was arrested and remanded to 14 days judicial custody pertaining to the case.
A case has been registered.
Banderdewa Councillor Tai Tasung appealed to the state government to provide ex-gratia and a Govt service to the family member of the victim.
Meanwhile, Bander-dewa Football Club condoled the tragic death of its member and prayed for eternal peace of departed soul.
