BOMDILA, 3 Feb: Amid ongoing efforts to combat the drug menace across towns, cities and the state in general, Painaktang village in Kalaktang subdivision of West Kameng district was conferred the ‘drug-free village’ award this Republic Day.
Local MLA Tseten Chombay congratulated the residents and said, “This achievement is a collective milestone. That one of the villages in my constituency has been declared a drug-free village is truly inspiring.”
He further stated, “I extend my heartfelt congratulations to all the residents of Painaktang for this remarkable achievement. This honour is not merely about recognition – it reflects the collective pride of the community and the deep concern you have shown in safeguarding the future of our younger generation.”
The MLA added that the village now stands as a shining example for others to follow. He praised the community’s commitment to spreading awareness against drug abuse and fostering a healthy and responsible society. He also expressed hope that the spirit of unity and vigilance shown by Painaktang would continue to guide and inspire many more villages across the state.
