OLD LANWANG, 17 Mar: A young, promising teacher of Tirap district, Rapong Sawin, PRT (ISSE), who was serving as the headmaster in-charge of the government upper primary school in Lanwang, passed away at midnight on 16 March at his residence in Old Lanwang village due to a stroke.

He was 38 years old, and is survived by his wife and two sons.

During his service, he dedicated nine years, three months, and four days to the field of education.

Deputy Commissioner Techu Aran paid his last respect by laying a wreath on the mortal remains of late Sawin.

While consoling the bereaved family, the DC said that the untimely demise of a young and promising teacher is a great loss not only to the education department but also to his family and the Tutsa community at large. He also met Khonsa East MLA Wanglam Sawin, who is the uncle of the deceased.

The education department, led by Tirap DDSE KC Lowangcha, conveyed condolences to the bereaved family. (DIPRO)
