ITANAGAR, May 17: The education department has retracted its press statement regarding the alleged reduction of the annual fund of the higher & technical education directorate from Rs 64 crore in 2016-’17 to Rs 62 crore in 2018-’19 by the state government.
A report based on the press release was carried in this daily on Thursday.
The department said that the press statement showed the department of higher and technical education in poor light, “since the facts and figures are not correct and (the statement) was sent without the approval of higher authority.”
