WAKKA, Jul 7: The four-day career orientation and counselling programme conducted at various schools in Longding district concluded at the government higher secondary school (GHSS) here on Saturday.
Earlier, counselling sessions were held at the GHSS in Kanubari, Longding and Pongchau.
During the programme here, Education Minister Honchun Ngandam advised the students to equip themselves with the requisite qualification to face the competitive world, and urged them to avail the benefits of the government’s schemes for students.
He also urged the students to play a proactive role against consumption of narcotic substances like opium.
The GHSS authority submitted a memorandum to the minister, seeking construction of school auditorium and boundary wall, and posting of subject teachers.
International Chamber of Service Industry director general Dr Gulshan Sharma also spoke.
Similar career orientation programmes are scheduled to be held in all other districts of the state. (DIPRO)
