ITANAGAR, Jul 20: The Itanagar bench of the Guwahati High Court has directed the state government to expedite the process of setting up of Lokayukta in the state to give effective meaning to the provisions of the Arunachal Pradesh Lokayukta Act, 2014.
The court was disposing of a PIL filed by one Payi Gyadi, who sought the court’s directives on implementation of the act to curb corruption in public offices.
The counsel representing the government informed the court that a search committee already been set up for preparing a panel of persons to be considered for appointment as chairperson and members of the Lokayukta.
