SAGALEE, Sep 7: The Arunachal Pradesh Mahila Congress Committee (APMCC) organized a rally here in Papum Pare district on Friday, calling for a “clean, free and fair election, devoid of money and malpractices.”
Addressing the rally, AIMCC general secretary Jarjum Ete slammed the BJP government at the Centre for the soaring fuel prices.
Stating that the nation cannot develop to its full potential without participation of the women, Ete exhorted the Mahila Congress workers to protest “the crooked policy of the Narendra Modi government.”
She also exhorted them to take part in ‘Project Shakti’ of the Mahila Congress.
Also participating in the rally, local MLA and former chief minister Nabam Tuki said the INC brought 33% reservation for women in the panchayat, and said “it should also be extended to Parliament.”
APCC vice-president (HQ) Minkir Lollen accused Narendra Modi of giving communal colour to Indian politics. He said Modi had “sold national integration and security to France by committing the Rafale scam, considered one of the biggest scams of independent India.”
APMCC president Nabam Yakum said the Congress “is the only party which gives equal opportunity to all to grow,” and urged the people of Sagalee constituency to be committed to the Congress party and repose faith in the party.
APMCC vice-president Yam Toko exhorted the women of the constituency to walk hand in hand to strengthen the party organization and build the nation.
Arunachal Pradesh Congress Seva Dal chief organizer Kipa Kaha condemned the BJP for its “lies” and for “befooling” the people of the state.
BCC president Taba Tate highlighted the major achievements of the Congress in the constituency. He urged the public to remain united to bring the Congress back to power in 2019.
Among others, DMCC president Nabam Yamang, former Balijan ZPM Nabam Sokia, Sagalee BYC president Nabam Pakhi, and former panchayat leader Tana Tagu addressed the rally.
