ZIRO, Sep 26: A one-day hands-on training on mushroom cultivation was organized by the GB Pant National Institute of Himalayan Environment and Sustainable Development (GBPNIHESD), North East Regional Centre, Itanagar at the museum hall of Mother’s Home, Suluya under Lower Subansiri district on Wednesday.
Representatives from Nature Care and Disaster Management Society, farmers association, Anchal Samiti members, All Nichi Nitii Youth Organization, students from Ziro Valley School, Members of Achukuru Welfare Society and gaon buris attended the training, wherein resource person Senior Technical Officer, NEIST Branch Laboratory, Dr BC Baruah demonstrated different tools and techniques required for mushroom cultivation.
Earlier, the GBPNIHESD also organized awareness programmes, painting competition, swachhata pledge, and cleanliness drive as part of the ‘Swachhta Hi Seva’ campaign within the premises of Ziro Valley School here on Tuesday last.
