DAPORIJO, Oct 14: The Fai-Fai team won the inaugural match of the second Veteran Cup Football Tournament at GHSS playground here in Upper Subansiri district on Friday.
They beat Subansiri United 2-1.
Public leader Taniya Soki, who kicked off the tournament, spoke about the benefits of playing sports.
Soki hoped the tournament will encourage young players towards games and sports.
He stressed the need for developing more infrastructures for promotion of games and sports in the state.
Before the start of the match, a minute’s silence was observed as a mark of respect to former football player and OC Tokar Riram, who passed away on Thursday.
Organized by Singhik United Football Club, the tournament is being participated by 11 teams.
